December Outlook: Snowfall looks to be lacking.

After rain and snow Wednesday, the forecast through mid month looks mild and dry.

Average high temperatures in December range for lost 40s to start the month to near freezing by New Years Eve. However the latest climate outlook shows the region will be bucking that trend. There's high confidence the great lakes will see above normal temperatures, especially through the middle of the month. Forecast highs right now are running 10 degrees above normal.

The warm temperatures should also keep the monthly snow total down. On average December sees almost 20 inches of snow. Expect below normal snowfall but just as we saw in November, all it takes is one day to see significant snowfall. The question now is will we see a white Christmas. That will yet to be seen, as of now its looking less likely.
