Shakespeare's 'First Folio' on display at Notre Dame

The University of Notre Dame is welcoming “Shakespeare’s First Folio” to campus to kick off a year-long celebration commemorating the 400th anniversary of playwright William Shakespeare.

“First Folio” is a 50 state exhibit and tour of Shakespeare’s first published collection of 36 plays including “Macbeth.”

Notre Dame is the first stop for the tour for one of the world’s most treasured books.

"It's the first time we have ever had a book this treasured here on campus at Notre Dame," said executive director of Shakespeare at Notre Dame Scott Jackson.  "It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a lot of the residents of Michiana to come out and just view such a storied book."

The exhibit will be held in the rare books and special collections gallery of the Hesburgh Library at Notre Dame until January 29th.
