Man accused of using illegal pesticide at two Michiana motels

A Dyer, Indiana resident is accused of using an illegal pesticide at two motels in northern Indiana.

Dipen Patel, 34, has been charged with a criminal violation of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA.)

According to the US Attorney's Office, a pesticide known as "DOOM" was applied to rooms at a motel in Michigan City and a motel in Howe, Indiana.

On Thursday, an information and plea agreement was filed for the criminal violation. No further details were released.
