SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Tenth Annual Bears in the Air program successfully raised $15,000 to benefit local veterans who live at the Robert L. Miller Senior Veteran's Center in South Bend.
St. Joseph County Airport Authority Board President Abraham Marcus presented a commemorative check to the organization on Tuesday.
“I think that our relationship with the folks here at the South Bend International Airport and Saint Joseph County, they've been there from the beginning, they've been integral in supporting some of the services and the resources and the programs we offer to our veterans,” one representative of the veteran's center said.
The program was also able to collect and distribute over 2,000 teddy bears to six local children’s hospitals this past year.
