US Representative Jackie Walorski, R-2nd District presented the Dr. Todd Graham Pain Management, Treatment, and Recovery Act, H.R. 6110, on the House floor Tuesday afternoon.
The act would improve patient access to non-opioid, non-addictive alternatives for treating pain.
"This bipartisan legislation will help break down barriers to non-opioid treatments and give healthcare providers better tools to prevent addiction and assist in recovery," Walorski said on the House floor.
Dr. Graham was shot and killed last July by Michael Jarvis because Dr. Graham wouldn't prescribe pain killers for Jarvis' wife.
Jarvis then killed himself.
Dr. Graham's wife was on Capitol Hill for the reading and the vote.
The bill passed unanimously.
