Elkhart Police investigating two separate shooting incidents

ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart Police responded to two shooting incidents Monday afternoon.

The first incident happened at 2:39 p.m. in the 1100 block of Delaware Street. The victim told police she got into an argument with an acquaintance who pulled a gun and fired a shot at her.

She was not struck by the bullet.

The suspect got into a vehicle and fled the area.

The second incident happened at 5:21 p.m. in the 200 block of E. Indiana Avenue.

Someone reported two people were shooting at each other. At the scene, police located bullet holes in the residence at 103 W. Garfield Avenue.

There were no injuries as a result of the gunfire, police said.

Police collected 7 casings and one slug from the scene.
