LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. - A new traffic signal is in place to try to make U.S. 20 safer.
The new traffic control system was activated Tuesday morning at the exit ramp of Eastbound I-94 where it merges onto Eastbound U.S. 20.
The goal is to create a safer turn for cars merging onto U.S. 20.
That exit ramp has been the site of several accidents, including a few deadly ones, over the past year.
The new traffic system is part of Indiana's "Next Level Roads" project, aimed at improving infrastructure across the state.
