Woman extricated from vehicle, man given multiple citations after crash

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. –- A woman was extricated from her vehicle after another driver crossed the center line on State Road 19 Tuesday morning.

According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, 44-year-old Carrie Jamrozy was driving a 2014 Nissan south on SR 19 when another vehicle driven by 43-year-old Wilber Canenguez crossed the center line.

Even though Jamrozy attempted to avoid a collision, the vehicles crashed. Canenguez told deputies he lost control of his vehicle.

ECSD says Jamrozy had to be pulled from her vehicle and was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with severe neck and back pain.

Canenguez suffered pain in his neck and was also taken to Elkhart General for treatment. Deputies issued him several citations.
