ELKHART, Ind. -- Amber Pasztor, the mother who killed her two children in September of 2016 has been sentenced to 130 years in prison.

She pleaded guilty to the murders of Liliana Hernandez and Rene Pasztor on June 1, 2017.

She received an enhanced sentence of 65 years for each murder charge.

The judge says she will be taken to a state mental hospital to determine if she is stable enough for incarceration.

Background

The morning of September 26, 2016, Pasztor abducted her children from her parents' home in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Pasztor's parents had legal custody of her children.

An AMBER Alert was issued for Liliana, Rene, Amber and Fort Wayne resident Frank Macomber and Frank's tan Mercury Mystique.

At 5:25 p.m., a woman driving a Mercury Mystique pulled up to the Elkhart Police Department and flagged down an officer. She told the officer she had smothered her children and their bodies were in the back seat.

Pasztor was taken into custody and held on outstanding warrants.

The following day, Macomber's body was found in a wooded area  in Allen County. He had been killed before the children were abducted.

Police said Pasztor told them where to find his body and that she shot him with a shotgun he purchased, according to court documents. She is facing charges in his death in Allen County.
