10-month-old hospitalized after eating gummy candy containing THC

ELKHART, Ind. -- A 10 month old was taken to Elkhart General Hospital Friday around 7 p.m. after eating gummy candy containing THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, according to Elkhart Police.

The child was treated at the hospital, but the child's injuries were not considered life threatening, police said.

The Department of Child Services was contacted and will assist with the investigation.

Police said the incident occurred at the child's home.
