10-year-old boy killed in crash in Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind.—A 10-year-old boy was killed in a crash on Monday, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

Police were called to the scene of a crash around 4:20 p.m. on Monday at SR 19 and CR 42.

A Subaru Forester hit the trailer of a semi-truck in the intersection, lodging itself under the trailer, according to police.

Both the Subaru’s driver and 10-year-old passenger were taken to the hospital. The 10-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.

The semi-truck driver was not injured.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Crash Investigation Team is investigating the incident.
