10-Year-old gets new adult lungs

PHILADELPHIA -- A 10 year old Pennsylvania girl with a genetic disorder has finally received new lungs.

Wednesday's surgery came after her family fought for the girl to be put on the adult organs list.

Normally children under the age of 12 are restricted from getting adult lungs first.

A Philadelphia federal judge granted a temporary injunction so she could receive adult lungs if a match was found.

"I saw an injustice and I felt like I needed to fight and at the end of the day like if I was going to lose her, I wasn't going to lose her sitting down," said the girl's mother Janet Murnaghan.

Her family says there were no complications and she is doing very well.
