11-year-old that initially survived house fire has passed away

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A source close to the Smith family involved in the house fire on LaPorte Avenue in South Bend that claimed the lives of five children has shared that 11-year-old Angel Smith passed away at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
Angel was the only child in the fire to survive and was taken to an Indianapolis burn unit.
A donation drive to support the victims is set up through First Source Bank locations. You can also mail donations to the memorial fund's P.O. box.
