12-Year-old girl hit with sledgehammer

INDIANAPOLIS — A 12-year-old Indianapolis girl is in critical condition. Officials say she was hit in the head with a sledgehammer.
It happened just before nine Wednesday evening.
Police say the girl was awake and breathing when she first got to the hospital.
