After closure in 2020, YMCA reopens in downtown
SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- REAL Services, the St. Joseph Health System, and Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County were awarded $1,550,000 in grant money from the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County. The grant is a part of the Community Foundation's Senior Living Initiative.
REAL Services will receive $750,000 over a two year period to help start its Care Connections Center at Milton Village. The center will be geared towards assisting seniors suffering from dementia.
The St. Joseph County Health System will receive $500,000 over five years to support its Older Community Healthworker Initiative. The program helps connect seniors to resources that allow them to maintain their independent.
Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County will receive $300,000 over three years for its Aging in Place Senior Living Initiative. The program offers home repair and remodeling services to seniors that cannot do so themselves.
