15-year-old arrested for possession of dangerous weapon

Elkhart Police arrested a 15-year-old for possession of a danger weapon at Roosevelt Park Friday evening.
According to police, they were dispatched to Roosevelt Park at 8:45 p.m. Friday about a group of juveniles who may be in possession of a gun.
When officers arrived, one of the juveniles threw a backpack and fled.
Inside the back pack, officers found a handgun.
Through their investigation, detectives identified the juvenile and arrested him on September 23.
He faces one count of possession of a dangerous weapon.
