18 Notre Dame football players test positive for COVID-19

The University of Notre Dame announced 18 football players tested positive for COVID-19 over the last week. Seven of the players who tested positive were in isolation due to contact tracing.

Between Tuesday and Sunday, the university conducted 273 COVID-19 tests of the student athletes. Of those, 18 tested positive.

Those 18 players are in isolation and their close contacts have been identified.

As of Monday, a total of 25 players are in isolation and 14 others are in quarantine due to contact tracing.

The football program has resumed conditioning activities.
