1957 Notre Dame football team honored Saturday

SOUTH BEND --- More than 20 members of the 1957 Notre Dame football team returned to campus this weekend. They all gathered at the 50 yard line Saturday at Notre Dame Stadium.

One of their games was on the road in Norman, Oklahoma which put them in the Fighting Irish record books.

They broke Oklahoma's 47 game winning streak which is the longest winning streak in college football history.

Saturday, we asked the head coach to take us back to that win.

"Well it was a great day a great day, any time you win is great but to beat a team that has 47 straight is even better," said Terry Brennan who was the Irish head coach in 1957.

"Dick Lynch" scored a touchdown with just under four minutes left in the game for the win.
