2 airlifted from crash in Knox

KNOX, Ind. – Two people were airlifted and flown to area hospitals after a 3-vehicle crash in Knox Monday afternoon.

According to the Starke County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived at the scene on State Road 8 near 600 East around 4:18 p.m.

Deputies believe a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am traveling east on SR 8, driven by a juvenile, veered into oncoming traffic and struck a full-sized handicap van traveling west.

After striking the vehicle, the driver’s Pontiac crashed into a 2010 Chrysler van traveling behind the first van with two females inside.

Officials say two of the victims were airlifted to nearby hospitals for treatment of their injuries. It is unclear which vehicle they were traveling in.
