2 booked at LaGrange County Jail after caller reports suspicious activity

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. –  A call about suspicious activity on S.R. 3, led to two bookings at the LaGrange County Jail.

According to a press release from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 10 a.m., the LaGrange County Communications Center received a call about suspicious activity within the area of 400 S on S.R. 3.

The release states on Feb. 22, a caller reported a dark minivan had dropped off two subjects, dressed in dark hoodies. The caller said the subjects ran behind a residence toward a barn.

At approximately 10:10 a.m., arriving officers located two subjects within the barn. The subjects were identified as Matthew Coney and Patricia Reffeitt.

A preliminary investigation shows Coney in possession of paraphernalia, methamphetamine and marijuana. He was booked on these charges at the LaGrange County Jail as well as the charge of Maintaining a Common Nuisance.

Reffeitt was into the LaGrange County Jail on a charge of Visiting a Common Nuissance.
