2-year-old injured in shooting

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- A 2-year-old child was injured in a shooting at an apartment on Generations Drive, according to St. Joseph County Police.

The shooting was reported at 10:18 a.m.

The initial reports indicate it was a self-inflicted gunshot through the hand.

The boy suffered non-life threatening injuries in the shooting.

A person who was in the apartment at the time of the shooting fled, but police said there is no threat to the public.

Police are still on scene investigating.
