2012 On track to be 'warmest' year on record

Warm is what describes the temperature throughout most of the year.

At this point, 2012 is on track to be the warmest on record in the lower 48. Some photos even show dandelions and witch-hazel taken in the Midwest just this week.

In Chicago, warm winter coats and hats were replaced by t-shirts and shorts. The Windy City soared 30 degrees above average Monday to 70 degrees

Across the country, there have been 400 record-high temperatures this December alone.
