2023 Jaxson Scholarship application now open

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The Jaxson William Augustus Swank Foundation is seeking applicants for the 2023 Jaxson Scholarship.

The Jaxson Scholarship is created in remembrance of Jaxson Swank who was taken from his family and friends only one month and 11 days before his second birthday in a tragic accident in December of 2004.

This scholarship provides a full academic ride scholarship to a private academic institution continued up through four years of undergraduate studies.

Applicants must be between two and a half and five years old and entering preschool or kindergarten in 2023.

Applying families need to qualify under the income guidelines, making at or below 250% of the federal poverty level, approximately 69,375 for a family of 4.

The families do not need a St. Joseph County residence (IN), but Jaxson scholars are expected to enroll at a school in St. Joseph County.

Any Jaxson scholars and JWAS families are expected to attend at least 75% of the foundation’s annual character and leadership developmental programming.

In addition to the attendance requirement families also are expected to be actively engaged in their child’s school and learning progress.

Families who receive a Jaxson scholarship are expected to be moral examples of character while serving the larger community.

If you are interested in applying visit the website here or reach out to JWAS Executive Director Jeanie Shuck at [email protected].

Applications will be accepted through October 31, 2022.
