Dangers of ice on Lake Michigan
BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- In the early morning hours of Feb. 1, officers with the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety responded to reports of shots-fired in 600 block of Columbus Avenue.
While canvassing the area, officers located a 21-year-old injured male.
The victim was treated at the scene and transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Detectives are actively investigating and no suspect has been identified at this time.
Authorities are asking anyone with information related to the shooting to contact Detective Wresinski at 616-401-1368 or provide an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-342-7867.
