22-month-old dies after possible drowning in LaGrange County

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. – A 22-month-old boy has died after a possible drowning at Big Long Lake in LaGrange County, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources announced.

At 8:19 p.m. on Saturday, conservation officers were called to the 5900 block of South 1000 East on Big Long Lake.

A 22-month-old boy had been pulled from the water in front of the residence.

The child was unresponsive when emergency personnel arrived and life-saving efforts were performed on-scene.

The child was airlifted to the hospital.

He died at 11 p.m. on Sunday.

An autopsy was performed on Tuesday and the results are pending.

This is an ongoing investigation.
