24th annual Michiana Chili Cook-Off set for October 9
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The 24th Annual Michiana Chili Cook-Off is set for Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. at the Martin's Super Market on Heritage Square Drive.
During the event, attendees can enjoy sample portions of chili from a number of local restaurants and organizations. This year's participants include:
- Weiss' Gasthaus
- University of Notre Dame Catering
- Levy at Notre Dame
- Bistro 933
- Unity Gardens
- Ivy Tech
- Martin's Super Markets Food Truck
- South Bend Community School/Chartwell
- Fiddler's Hearth
- Hotel Elkhart
Tickets are $10 at the door for adults and include all-you-can-sample chili and one voting ticket.
Tickets are $5 for kids under the age of 10 and free for kids under the age of two.
Local celebrities and community members will decide the first, second, and third place winners of the cook-off. Winners will be announced at 4:30 p.m.
Trophies will also be awarded to the best-decorated booth.
Residents can enjoy live music from Ground Control, a beer tent, a caramel apple booth, and corn hole during the event.
The event is hosted by Martin's Super Markets and the American Culinary Federation South Bend Chefs and Cooks Association.
Proceeds from the competition go toward the Food Bank of Northern Indiana and the ACF South Bend Chefs and Cooks Association.
