26th Annual Michiana Chili Cook-Off at Central Park Sunday to benefit Food Bank of Northern Indiana
MISHWAKA, Ind. -- Mishawaka Parks and Recreation will host the 26th Annual Michiana Chili Cook-Off, presented by ACF South Bend Chefs and Cooks Association, on Sunday at Central Park in the Bandshell area from noon to 4 p.m., rain or shine.
Entry is $10 per adult, which includes all you can eat sample chili and one voting ticket, and $5 per child under 10, with proceeds benefiting the Food Bank of Northern Indiana.
Local restaurants and organizations will offer sample size portions of their “winning” chili and compete for the 2024 Michiana Chili Cook-Off Traveling Trophy.
Organizers say past entries in the cook-off have included squash, white, vegetarian, vegan, beef, pork, and chicken chilis with almost every kind of bean or no bean at all.
Sometimes the chilis are accompanied by cornbread, ciabatta bread, fresh chips, and a variety of toppings.
Sunday's confirmed participants include:

- Masala Mama
- Weiss Gast Haus
- Ivy Tech
- Penn High School
- Levy
- Bistro 933
- Knights of Columbus
Community and popular votes will be announced at 3:30 p.m.
There will also be live music provided by The Michiana String Collective Band.
A caramel apple and hot apple cider booth will be present along with a Beer and Cider Tent hosted by Weiss Gast Haus.
