FULTON COUNTY, Ind. -- Court documents from Fulton County reveal 33-year-old Cortland Minix has been charged with several felony charges regarding child pornography.

Following an investigation, Minix was arrested and charged with one count of Possession of Child Pornography, a Level 6 Felony, and four counts of Possession of Child Sex Abuse Material, all Level 6 Felonies.

Minix's initial court hearing is set for Jan. 5, 2026.

According to the probable cause affidavit in the case, the Rochester Police Department began an investigation into Minix on Nov. 6.

On Nov. 10, a search warrant was obtained and signed for the seizure of Minix's cell phone.

Minix later arrived at RPD for an unrelated reason before being asked to come into an interview room regarding this case.

Minix agreed to speak with police, and was informed of the warrant for his phone, which he supplied to investigators.

After obtaining Minix's phone, a warrant was obtained to search his phone.

A forensic download was then completed on Minix's phone, and the data was transferred to a flash drive.

After reviewing the data, authorities observed about 150 images depicting child sexual abuse material involving girls, many of whom appeared less than 12 years old.

Police say metadata from the material show a date range from May 9 to October.
