39-year-old South Bend man sentenced to over four years in prison for firearm offense

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The United States Attorney’s Office Northern District of Indiana announced 39-year-old Atlantis Griffin, of South Bend, was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Damon R. Leichty after pleading guilty to being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Griffin was sentenced to 57 months in prison followed by one year of supervised release.

Court documents state in February, Griffin was driving in Mishawaka with a loaded handgun, cocaine, and over $1,000 in cash.

Documents state a traffic stop then resulted in the recovery of the gun, drugs, and cash.

Griffin was previously convicted of a felony offense and was prohibited from possessing the firearm in this case.
