SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- La Casa De Amistad hosted its 4th annual Hispanic Heritage Month event on Tuesday evening. The event featured two local vendors, Hispanic entertainment including a mariachi band and traditional indigenous dancing, and an awards ceremony honoring individuals who have made a positive impact on the Latino community.
The honorees were Angelica Duarte, Juan Hernandez, and Felix Marques. The celebration was attended not only by the South Bend community but also by Mayor James Mueller and several members of the Common Council.
