5-year-old suffers life threatening injuries in shooting

ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart Police are investigating a shooting that caused life-threatening injuries to a 5-year-old boy.
Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Wildflower for reports of a shooting with injuries Tuesday morning.
When they arrived, they found the 5-year-old with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Police said the call came in as an accidental discharge.
