525 Foundation collects over 6,000 pounds of pills for National Drug Takeback Day

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – The 525 Foundation, a non-profit organization that seeks to bring awareness to the dangers of prescription drug misuse, has collected over 6,000 pounds of pills in honor of National Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday.

This is the fifth year the 525 Foundation has partnered with the DEA to host the National Drug Take-Back Day.

The non-profit teamed up with many local police departments, fire stations, hospitals, medical centers and community centers throughout Michiana. The event took place from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m.
