57 Minute Miracle surprises Benton Harbor local

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- The 57 Minute Miracle team stopped by a store in Benton Harbor's arts district, where they met an artist eager to help make a miracle happen for a loyal customer.

While ABC 57's Jess Arnold started the timer, the artist, Dave Smykal, ran out the door to chase after the woman he had in mind.

Luckily, she was still nearby, so he asked her to come back inside.

The fastest miracle of the season, this one took less than 57 seconds!

"Yes God, thank you God," said Crystal Clinton.

"Well I’m just glad. It’s like she’s come in before several times, so home run for you!" said Dave.

He says Crystal will come in every now and then and look at new art, so he knows her as a local customer.

Locals in the area know her as a positive presence in Benton Harbor, always eager to spread her message of God's love.

“So to be presented with an ABC [gift], thank you God. Not to forget our purpose here," said Crystal.

Crystal's mom says she's been religious her entire life, heavily involving herself in youth ministry growing up.

She says art helps express her gratitude toward the Lord, as she turned around and bought a small piece from the very store that helped her get a miracle.

“You know what, I need to make in mind to give it to someone," said Crystal.
