6-Year-old South Bend boy shot in leg

A 6-year-old South Bend boy is recovering in a hospital after police said an 18-year-old Grand Rapids man shot the boy Saturday afternoon.
The man claimed he was playing with a gun when it accidentally went off, putting a bullet in the little boy’s leg.
The man left the scene, but Grand Rapids police said they were able to stop him about a block away.
The boy is expected to recover, and the man is facing charges.
