ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Police Department reports officers responded to a call of a stabbing with injuries in an apartment building in the 2800 block of Toledo Road in Elkhart, around 10:29 p.m., on Saturday, August 17.

Upon arrival, officers say they observed two men rendering medical aid to a 61-year-old man inside the common area of the building.

The victim was taken to the hospital for evaluation and treatment of serious injuries.

Police say at last check, the victim was in stable condition.

Officers collected evidence at the scene, and it's believed to be an isolated incident.

The case remains under investigation.
