8-Year-old girl hit by car getting off school bus

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- An 8-year-old girl was hit by a car while getting off of the school bus!
It happened Monday afternoon, on State Road 120, just west of County Road 19.
Elkhart County police say the driver could not stop in time.
That's when he swerved around the bus, and hit the girl!
Officers say the 8-year-old was not seriously hurt. She complained of ankle pain.
The driver, 35-year-old, Timothy Risner was cited for improper brakes.
