ELKHART, Ind. -- An 8-year-old boy was killed after he was struck by a car in Elkhart on Wednesday evening, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office.
According to police reports, Nolan Richard was trying to cross County Road 7, south of County Road 26, when he was hit by a Ford sedan traveling southbound.
He was pronounced dead at Elkhart General Hospital, and the incident is under investigation.
The driver was not injured.
