9-Year-old stabbing victim remembered

GAINES TWP, Mich.-- Hundreds in a small Michigan town are trying to come to grips with a shocking and gruesome crime.
They gathered Wednesday morning to remember a 9-year-old boy who was stabbed to death on a playground.
Connor Verkerke was playing near his home last week when an older boy stabbed him multiple times in the back.
12-year-old Jamarion Lawhorn is being charged as an adult for the crime and is scheduled to undergo psychological testing.
Wednesday, the community focused less on the person accused of the crime and more on celebrating Connor's life.
