Dogwood Road re-opened between Kern and Jackson Roads

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - UPDATE: As of Saturday morning, St. Joseph County Highway has re-opened Dogwood Road between Kern Road and Jackson Road.

ORIGINAL STORY: St. Joseph County Highway has closed Dogwood Road between Kern Road and Jackson Road due to high water.

Officials urge drivers to use Elm Road (Capital Avenue) State Road 331 as a detour.

This closure will remain in effect until conditions are safe for travel, although It's expected there will be no changes overnight.

Officials will be monitoring the area routinely. Updates will be provided as they are received.

St. Joseph County Highway officials say other rural roads may experience the same issue and motorists are asked to use extreme caution when driving Friday evening and into the morning.

If water has risen over the roadways do not attempt to drive through and when possible, notify the authorities of the situation.
