SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Michiana Alliance for Democracy held a No Kings event encouraging residents to vote early.
Residents showed up with posters, costumes, and some even brought horses with posters on them.
"Voting expresses our core values and whatever we have deep inside of us is expressed in the ballot box, and in that way, it's important for us to vote every time we have the opportunity," said Steve Barber, a participant at the event.
Barber said he's dissatisfied with the way things are currently, "we understand that there are many disagreements. For me, myself. I want to learn how to love everybody. I believe that that's one of my core values, and so wherever people are, we want to gather and learn how to love one another."
Barber also said it's important for people to use their power to vote, "we want to stand for democracy. We want to stand for freedom. We want to stand for love and respect and kindness for all people."
