SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- While conducting a traffic stop around midnight Sunday, near the intersection of Cleveland and Kinglet, an officer's vehicle from the Roseland Police Department was rear-ended by a car, causing the squad car to crash into the back of the vehicle that was stopped.

The officer was still in his vehicle when the car was struck and has since been sent to the hospital to be treated and was released. No other injuries occurred.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash and SJCPD is handling the investigation.
