Vacant portable building destroyed by fire in Berrien County

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Benton Charter Township Fire Department was dispatched to a fire on Wednesday afternoon in the 1700 block of Territorial Road.
The fire burned through a vacant portable school building, which was a total loss, and was moving toward a second building when it was extinguished. During the incident, one firefighter had to be treated for heat exhaustion. The fire is under investigation by the Benton Township Police Department.
