A Late Night Crash Sends One Man to Elkhart General

ELKHART, Ind.-- An Elkhart man could be in trouble for driving under the influence and for driving with a suspended license after crashing his car this morning.

31-year-old Derek Jernigan suffered cuts on his face, a broken sternum, broken ribs and a spleen injury.

He was driving north on County Road 115 when he verred off the road and hit two concrete sign posts.

He was transported to Elkhart General Hospital.

Possible OWI charges are pending.
