A weekend cool-down moves in breaking a 12-day warm streak

Even though March 1 was the first day of meteorological spring, the first five days of March 2016 could have easily been mistaken for February.  High temperatures struggled to reach into the mid-30s, adding an additional 6.2" of snowfall to the total through March 3rd.  However, those first five days of March were the only days so far this month that were below normal.  Since March 6th, the high temperatures have sprung to unseasonably warm levels, especially on March 8th when we reached 71°.

Here's a comparison of the observed highs over the last 7 days and a look ahead to the next 7.

We're tracking that cool down with temperatures dropping below normal for this weekend and the start of the next work week before temperatures rebound back into the 50s by next Tuesday.  As always, you can get your forecast updates daily here.
