ABATE riders take to the streets for MDA motorcycle ride

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Motorcycle riders took the road on Sunday in the annual ABATE ride for MDA.

Hundreds of people turned out at the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds to raise money for muscular dystrophy.

Bikers kicked off their 64 mile ride through South Bend, Walkerton and North Liberty around noon.

People at the kick off are grateful to the riders.

"I just feel great that I'm actually a part of trying to find a cure for myself and others and I really wish I could do more," said Nikki Losievski the state ambassador for Muscular Dystrophy. Losievski has the disease.

This year marks the 32nd year for the event.

Those who turned out for the event got to enjoy some live music from headliners Flynnville Train and country music star Gretchen Wilson.
