ABC 57 News investigates higher gas prices in Michiana.

Viewer James Smith asked the question, "I feel a story on the sudden rise of gas prices deserves someone's attention. As soon as a winter weather alert was put out, gas prices in our area went up."

We contacted the Indiana Attorney General's office to get an answer.

They said they keep a close eye on gas prices, and research is showing the price changes in the South Bend area are in line with the trading price on the market.

The Attorney General's office says prices here are within the range they would expect for the current wholesale price.
