ABC 57 News wins two Chicago Regional Emmy Awards
CHICAGO, IL-- ABC 57 News is proud to announce that our station won two Chicago Regional Emmy Awards at the awards ceremony in Chicago on Saturday night. One award for the entire ABC 57 News Team and another for First Warning Chief Meteorologist Tom Coomes and Executive Producer Kyle Fobe.
ABC 57 News won in the category of Outstanding Achievement for News Programming - Evening Newscast for the Michiana Winter Whiteout entry from February 2016.
We were also recognized with a win for a Regional Emmy for Outstanding Achievement for News Specialty Report/ Series - Weather, for the story Skyline Skepticism- Lake Michigan Mirage. The story was done by First Warning Chief Meteorologist, Tom Coomes, debunking conspiracy theories and explaining the "Mirage" effect behind a photograph of the Chicago skyline taken from the shores of Western Michigan.
