ABC57 shining a spotlight on adoptable animals: Meet Kapone
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Calling all prospective pet parents.
If you’re looking to welcome a new furry friend into your family, ABC 57 News wants to help.
That’s why we’re launching a new segment ‘Shining A Spotlight On Adoptable Animals’ at one local shelter.
Our furry friends at the South Bend Animal Resource Center are ready to find their potential fur-ever home.
The South Bend Animal Resource Center Volunteer Coordinator Sue Durski takes us with our very first Pet of the Week, Kapone.
Kapone has been here at the shelter for just a couple weeks but is ready for a forever home.
Durski likes to call him a big puppy.
And, Durski was not kidding when she said big puppy, he is quite the size reaching at your hip for a one year old.
“This week we have Kapone here. He’s about a year old, still very puppy-like. He was surrendered because he was just too much. Being a Great Dane, as you can tell, his height comes straight above my hips. He’s high energy, loves to run around, very goofy so he definitely needs training. And, somebody that can handle his strength,” Durski said.
He’s a Great Dane mix with full of energy, playful and a cuddler.
“He will though, as you can tell, lean up on you like a cat. And, uses his weight to definitely say ‘keep on petting me’. So, he’s definitely a cuddle bug. Once you get him trained, work with him a little bit, for sure he will want to be a couch potato as all Great Dane usually are when they get older,” Durski said.
He does not do well with other dogs so he needs all the attention.
