PULASKI COUNTY, Ind -- District 1 County Commissioner, Jennifer Knebel, told ABC57 Wednesday that the email sent last Friday evening that led to the cancelation of a planned town hall meeting was not actually a threat, but a plea from a community member for local protections from the Mammoth Solar Project.
Knebel claimed other commissioners wanted the meeting cancelled to avoid public questioning.
We also spoke with Doral Renewables LLC, the group behind the Mammoth Solar Project, about Knebel’s concerns over traffic and their handling of safety in the area.
Doral says they’ve paid to have extra police patrols in the area to help handle any traffic concerns caused by the project and puts the safety of county residents above all else.
ABC57 will continue to update on this situation.
