ABC57 Michiana Media: Wild Rose Moon kicks off fall concert season
PLYMOUTH. Ind. -- ABC57's Jordan Hatfield pulled back the curtain to take a look ahead at Wild Rose Moon's fall concert season and what makes the venue so special for Michiana artists.
Five artists will hit the stage over the next few weeks at the downtown Plymouth-based venue.
The audience can just about reach out and touch the music on stage, and that's by design, said founder and Artistic Director George Schricker.
Schricker wanted to create a place where the people who come out are as much a part of the show as the artists themselves.
The Wild Rose Moon first opened its doors in 2015, gaining its non-profit status a year later. And since then, they've put on hundreds of shows, welcoming artists from all over the world, even broadcasting some shows on 88.1 WVPE.
It's not just music; it's The Wild Rose Moon Radio Hour.
Theres's comedy, storytelling, and so much more, run together by Schricker and co-founder Derek Jensen.
The founders added the Moon will be getting a bit of a facelift.
Schricker stated, "We're going to add a second stage that will be a level up, because of sightlines for both cameras and the audience. We're going to put the house band up on its own stage so it can be seen more easily."
Beyond the stage, they're looking to develop post-production suites on their upstairs floor to train interns and turn their downstairs into a recording studio for podcasts.
But even with changes coming, Schricker says their goals remain the same, finding great music and being able to share it with an audience.
